The LACHSA Cinematic Arts Department is an official grantee of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s generosity, support and philanthropic initiatives.

The Cinematic Arts Department at the LA County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), trains the next generation of visual storytellers, content creators, media innovators and digital disruptors.  Located in the heart of Los Angeles, and in the shadow of Hollywood, LACHSA is a tuition-free, public arts high school which serves students in grades 9-12 throughout Los Angeles. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the National Young Arts Foundation with fifteen (15) Young Arts Scholars and two (2) Presidential Scholars, the LACHSA Cinematic Arts Department is the premier high school cinematic arts program in the country, providing highly motivated students with rigorous, cutting-edge curriculum that ranges from screenwriting and hands-on production to virtual reality and immersive storytelling.  The instruction and mentoring is anchored by the practical knowledge of professional experts and faculty who instruct on high-end camera, audio and post-production equipment supported and provided by Apple, Canon, Black Magic, Sony, Arri, Red, Adobe and Final Draft.
